Nissan offers the GTR in just two core trim levels: Premium and Nismo. The Nismo is based on the Premium but tuned by Nissan’s performance division. The upper trim also gets a range of mechanical enhancements that set it apart even further from its Premium counterpart.

Let’s start with performance. Both models have a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 engine mated to a dual-clutch six-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The difference is in the output. The Premium makes 565 horsepower and 467 pound-feet of torque whereas the Nismo makes an even more impressive 600 hp and 481 lb.-ft. Both models have a performance sports suspension with electronically controlled Bilstein shock absorbers and a limited-slip differential for enhanced traction, but the Nismo receives the Nismo-specific tuning for better handling and ride comfort. The Nismo has front and rear carbon-ceramic brakes. It has forged 20-inch wheels like the Premium, but they’re more lightweight, and the Nismo gets wider and higher-performance wheels.

The Nismo also has lightweight, carbon-fiber bodywork not found on the Premium along with wider fenders, a rear wing and other aesthetic differences. The sportier model also gets upgraded leather upholstery, Recaro front sport seating, trim-specific interior accents and a synthetic suede-wrapped Nismo steering wheel. The equipment packages are otherwise the same, and the only notable features that the Premium gets and the Nismo does not are front and rear parking sensors. Other notable standard features include LED exterior lighting, heated and power-folding mirrors, keyless entry with push-button start, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touch screen and 11-speaker Bose audio.
